- Hi there!
-
- Many people are now using the macintosh WAIStation program to access WAIS
- servers all over the world.
-
- Several have reported a bug in WAIStation. Currently WAIStation must be
- installed on the same disk as your system folder. Otherwise it is not able
- to establish any TCP connections.
-
- I will try to fix this bug soon. In the mean time, please bear with us.
-
- Also, the .hqx file cannot be decoded with BinHex 4.0 or 5.0 because of a
- known bug with long filenames in those programs. Use the "Decode BinHex
- File..." option in StuffIt's "Other" menu, or almost any other BinHex
- decoder except BinHex itself.
-
- Finally, note that WAIStation requires MacTCP from Apple. A good way to
- find out if MacTCP is correctly configured is to try to open a connection
- somewhere using NCSA Telnet-MacTCP. A copy of this application is located
- in this directory. MacTCP is *not* compatible with earlier, non-MacTCP
- versions of NCSA Telnet. (Those versions have their own TCP drivers built
- in which conflict with MacTCP.)
-
- Thank you,
-
